Autumn is here, and we’re celebrating with the last outdoor dance event of the season!

Join us on October 7th for an afternoon of social dancing in the park. We’ll focus on balfolk group dances—a fun and accessible dance tradition that’s perfect for beginners. Some dances involve partners, but don’t worry if you’re coming solo: partners rotate often, and you’ll find plenty of friendly people to dance with.

Whether you’ve never danced before or already love to move, everyone is welcome.
Our amazing volunteers will guide you through the steps—no experience needed!

You can:
🎵 Join a dance
🕺 Teach a dance you know
🎻 Bring your instrument and play
🌿 Or just hang out, snack, and enjoy the vibes

🧭 Practical Info

• Date: 07/10, 17:30-20:30

• Location: Töölönlahdenpuiston tanssilava, Karamzininranta 1, 00100 Helsinki – an outdoor stage that’s wheelchair-accessible and surrounded by plenty of seating.

• Rain plan: If it rains, we’ll move just a few meters away to dance outside of Oodi.

• Note: The dance floor is outdoors and uncovered (except for the musician’s stage).

• Cost: Free! But registration is required – sign up below.

• Language: The event is held in English, but don’t worry—dance is a universal language! Plus, we’ll have Finnish-speaking volunteers happy to help if needed.

🎶 Live Music – Call for Musicians

At our previous events, we had a mix of recorded music and a few live tunes—but we would also love to dance to more live music!
If you’re a musician, we’d love to have you on board. Get in touch and let’s create a magical atmosphere together.

Folk it Up! is part of a European Solidarity Corps (ESC) Solidarity Project — co-funded by the European Union, free of charge, open to everyone, and volunteer-led.

The project runs from September 2025 to March 2026, and you're welcome to join anytime.
