Folk it Up! 🎻 25th November
- Tue Nov 25, 2025 18:00–21:00
- Allianssi-talo
- Asemapäällikönkatu 1, 00520 Helsinki
Welcome (back) to Casual Dancing!
In our last two sessions, we had the pleasure of learning from amazing guests who introduced us to the basics of Palestinian Dabke and a choreography inspired by Ukrainian folk dance traditions — both of which have beautifully enriched our intercultural repertoire.
To keep things dynamic and varied, this time we’ll select simpler dances from different geographical backgrounds 🌎 including some favorites from our October and November sessions. But don’t worry if you’re new to Folk it Up! — our volunteers will be there to guide you through the steps and make sure everyone feels included.
A couple of participants have already offered to share dances from Greece 🇬🇷 and Portugal 🇵🇹, their countries of origin — and we couldn’t be more excited!
But we’d love to hear from you, too 🫵
Is there a specific dance you’d like to add to our repertoire? Or one we’ve danced before that you’d like to repeat?
👉 Let us know by filling out the form!
We will dance a lot, but we’ll also make sure to include breaks to socialize, catch our breath, and enjoy some vegan snacks 🥗 provided by the project’s volunteers.
đź’š This event follows safer space principles and will have a designated safer space contact person available.
