From Waste to Wonder: My Journey Creating a Thrift Guide and Leading an Upcycling Workshop
In a world increasingly defined by fast fashion and overconsumption, I found myself asking: how can we make more sustainable choices while still expressing our individuality and creativity?

This question led me on a fulfilling journey of creating a Thrift Guide and organizing an Upcycling Workshop, both aimed at promoting conscious consumerism, sustainability, and community connection.
The Thrift Guide: A Map for Sustainable Fashion
The idea for the Thrift Guide came from my own struggles and discoveries while navigating second-hand stores. I realized that many people wanted to shop more sustainably but didn’t know where to start. The guide became a curated resource filled with:
A map of local thrift stores, with information on price range and style focus (vintage, designer, basics, etc.).
Tips for smart thrifting—how to find quality pieces, spot hidden gems, and avoid impulse buys.
Creating the guide required a lot of exploration, conversations with shop owners, and trial-and-error in my own wardrobe. But what I loved most was seeing people use it—not just to shop, but to shift their mindset around consumption.
What’s Next? Sustainability is a community effort—and I’m excited to keep growing it, one stitch at a time.
