Deeds of Hope for the Baltic Sea 🌊

You are viewing a past event.

Join us for a Baltic Sea themed solidarity event and meet the international volunteers, here for their ESC team for the Concrete Deeds for the Baltic Sea project!

This month we'll be joined by Helsinki Wildlife Aid! Helsingin villieläinapu ry is a humane society operating in Helsinki metropolitan area. They help injured, sick and orphaned wild animals, and abandoned or lost domestic animals. They also give advice to people who have found an animal potentially in distress, capture, transfer and provide primary care for animals. Helsinki Wildlife Aid collaborates closely with local wildlife rehabilitating associations to ensure long-term care for animals with the goal of enhancing the status of all animals in the society as well as help individual animals in need.

As always, we will start with the presentation of the project and the activities of our collaborator, followed by a discussion about the topic of  wildlife wellbeing and how could  it be improved around the Baltic Sea.

Free vegan dinner cooked by our volunteers will, of course, be included! 🥗

About the project – Deeds of Hope

🌱 Deeds of Hope is a European Solidarity Corps (ESC) solidarity project. It’s created by youth, run by volunteers, and co-funded by the European Union.
It consists of a series of monthly events where we meet to share knowledge about activism and social engagement, explore the impact of Helsinki’s changemakers, and learn how to become part of movements for change.
We’ll get our hands dirty in practical workshops, where each month’s featured movement or organization shares hands-on skills and knowledge gained from their experience in activism.

We also offer free plant-based meals, cooked by our volunteers with primarily seasonal and locally produced ingredients.

Do you want to join our volunteer crew too? 💌 Send us an email at youth@alli.fi to get on board!
We don’t ask for any specific requirements — just the motivation to contribute to a meaningful project, even through small acts that make a difference.
