Nature’s Canvas

Nature’s Canvas was a week-long creative journey set in the heart of the Finnish countryside, where forests, lakes, and open landscapes became both the classroom and the canvas. Through hands-on workshops, collaborative art installations, and guided nature walks, participants explored the deep connection between art, environment, and community. The experience brought together young people from across Europe to create with natural materials, share cultures, and learn sustainable practices.

Learning about natural art

During this youth exchange in Finland, the participants learned about environmental art and sustainability. Together we discovered how art can be made with natural materials and how it can be used to express messages about protecting the environment. It was inspiring to see how creativity and nature can come together. Art can be created from almost anything, even from simple things like dead leaves, wood, or stones and showing that creativity doesn’t always need expensive materials, only imagination and ideas.

Before the exchange, I was hoping to discover new ways of making art and to learn something creative that I had never tried before. I also wanted to meet new people and experience something different from my everyday life. I think my expectations were met, it was even better than I imagined!

Working with an international group was amazing, I met people from different countries and learned about their cultures, ideas, and ways of thinking. We shared our experiences, helped each other, and created a good atmosphere together. It made me more open and confident to work with people from around the world.

Overall, the youth exchange was a great experience. I learned many new things, met amazing people, and had a lot of fun. It was something that helped me grow, not just in art, but also as a person. I will always remember this time with good feelings 
I definitely want to continue taking part in international projects in the future. I would like to join more exchanges, travel, and keep learning from people from different countries. It’s a great way to understand the world better and to keep developing myself!
