Information for planning the travel
Please organize the travel to the project well before the start date in order to be present in the project the whole duration: 31.5.-17.6.2025.
Note that the first and last days (31.5. and 17.6) are travel days.
Please book your travel taking into account that it takes 2-3 hours to travel from Helsinki to Loimaa so you should book your trip so that you arrive in Helsinki on 31.5. by early afternoon and take your return flight from Helsinki on 17.6. preferably in the afternoon or evening.
Train timetables from Helsinki airport to Loimaa can be found here
Please note that the train tickets get more expensive closer to the travel date.
Travel reimbursement
Your maximum sum for travel reimbursement depends on the distance between your home town and project place. You have received your maximum sum for travel reimbursement by email. The travel costs that exceed the maximum sum are paid by the volunteer. Also bus and train tickets can be reimbursed (for example when you need to travel from your home to the airport).
Travel expenses are paid when you have returned to your home country and sent us the travel reimbursement form to which you have attached all your travel documents (receipts, tickets, boarding passes). You need to send the form within 2 weeks after the project has ended. Since we go through all the travel documents one by one, it can take about 6-8 weeks to reimburse the travel expenses.
