Kauttamme voi lähteä Britanniaan vapaaehtoistyöhön joko parin viikon pituisille vapaaehtoisleireille tai sitten medium term volunteer (MTV) -ohjelmaan, jossa oleskelun kesto on yleensä 3-6 kuukautta. 

Britannian MTV-paikkoihin haku on useita kuukausia ennen aloituspäivää, sillä hakuprosessi viisumikäsittelyineen kestää oman aikansa.  Isäntäjärjestö haluaisi haastatella hakijoita jo joulukuussa.

Volunteer opportunity at L'Arche Belfast, an international federation dedicated to creating inclusive communities for people with and without learning disabilities. L'Arche Belfast provides supported living for 14 core members (adults with learning disabilities) across four houses and offers outreach to 100 participants weekly. Volunteers are needed as live-in assistants to help with daily tasks such as cleaning, cooking, personal care, and participating in activities like gardening and art.

Key details:

  • Location: South Belfast, near restaurants, parks, and the city center.

  • Duration: Preferably 12 months, but 6 months is possible.

CONCUKLTV01-24 - Camphill Tigh a'Chomainn, 01.06.2024 - 31.05.2025

Long term volunteering for 2 volunteers in the age 18-25

Tigh a’Chomainn is located near Aberdeen in Scotland, two hours away from Edinburgh in a beautiful setting.  In Tigh a’Chomainn everyone lives together as a community supporting adults, some of whom have learning disabilities. The overall objective of the project is supporting and assisting adults with additional support needs, learning difficulties and mental health conditions in their day to day lives. Volunteers will undertake ancillary and personal care tasks, light domestic duties and general support for individuals. Camphill is a unique vocational experience as it is based on living and working with the residents.

CONCUKMTV02-24 – YMCA Summer Nursery Placement 2024 – 10h June 2024 – 10th December 2024.

Throughout your time volunteering with the YMCA Fairthorne, you will help to deliver the highest quality of care and curriculum in line with the 'YMCA way' and regulated guidelines. Keeping the YMCA core values at the heart of everything they do, Welcoming, Active, Listening, Inspiring, Caring and Exciting.

As a volunteer, you will inspire the youngest participants, through delivering a exciting, child led, play based curriculum utilising the outdoors where-ever possible! From taking children on walks to explore nature, to eating and teaching around a campfire, you will be there to support young children as they challenge themselves and develop throughout their time at YMCA Fairthorne Manor Nursery.
